History just keeps repeating itself huh?

So like, there is that blog which I read to get familiar with the works Joubert illustrated. And the person said that the preface of a book for girl scouts (?) said that even though scout books mostly featured boys, the majority of the readers were girls and... Please just look at the pictures the person used in their post while wondering: why and how could have that occurred?

Observe the examples in the post and wonder with me and the blog: why on earth were scout books so popular among girls?
