I thought blondie from Mad Max 2 was unique in his blonde gay twinkiness, but...
Why did nobody tell me about the 1971 film Death in Venice and the book it was based on?
Basically it's

Okay so the book in question is Death in Venice and holy shit
Whoever cast Bjorn Andersen on that role knew what they were doing
A whole lot of pictures under cut
Like fucking

Fanservice, I'm telling you

Fan-ser-vice

Whoever decided to cast him was a marketing genius

(Neil) Tadzio banging out the tunes

He! Being kissed! Look at how happy he is

So yeah, boys are eternal and sacred. Plus they at least cast a teenager to play a, well, teenager (he was 15-16 when the movie was filmed)

YOU FOUND DEATH IN VENICE. Isn't it wonderful?

Yes the director absolutely knew what he was doing. If you ever get the chance, look up Thomas Mann's inspiration for the book as well.
