Whoever cast Bjorn Andersen on that role knew what they were doing

Yes the director absolutely knew what he was doing. If you ever get the chance, look up Thomas Mann's inspiration for the book as well.

I just went to look him up, I love how he basically was like "yeah, it was me in the book! He described me so well and accurate >//<" like duuuh, it's so good. The book begins heavy though so I skipped the first few pages
