I find the book's meta so hysterical, from one of the people who resembles the main character going "oh... So Aschenbach resembles me... Might as well bring my gay lovers to that hotel..... Might as well,,, die... in Venice" to the inspiration of Tadzio basically going "yeah Mann wanted to heck *me*, and not you, so die mad about it" to Andresen going basically "birth is a curse and existence is a prison DON'T EVEN TRY TO MENTIon that movie or book to me"
